"Goin' for a walk... Again..."

[Silas]

*The squirrel frowned as Tamar started to cry. He turns sideways in his seat to fully face the squirrelmaid. He lowered his gaze.* I'm sorry to hear that... *He says, now seeing the full extent of her story, or nearly all of it. This naturally produced sympathy for Tamar to replace some of the curiosity he had for her. And there was something else, but he didn't think much of that feeling presently. As she spoke again, he tries to comfort her by saying,* Well, um, you're safe now, miss. You're here. *He didn't really know how to reassure the squirelmaid in the case of her grandfather, however, as he had no knowledge of Tamar herself, much less her family.*

[tamar]

Yes, I'm here. *She scrubbed at her eyes with the back of one paw. The other was still occupied with the empty teacup* I'm here in this pitiful state and I have no idea what to do with myself. *She was embarrassed with her tears and with the fact that she had no choice but to accept his help. All this embarrassment on top of the crying gave her the hiccups, which shook her whole petite frame and the hammock on which she was lying*

[Silas]

Now, miss... *He began, taking the empty cup from Tamar and setting it aside.* Just rest, get your strength back, and I'll go talk to Terragon t' see about accomodations... *He looks down at his footpaws a little here,* Well, that is if you're planning on stayin' in Terralux... *He adds.*

[tamar]

I'd like to ~hic~ stay. Who ~hic~ is Terra ~hic~ gon? *She rolled her eyes at her new speech impediment and tried to hold her breath while she counted to twenty to rid herself of the annoying spasm. This tactic did nothing however when she reached number 14 she hiccuped again.* Could I please ~hic~ *she growled* water ~hic~

[Silas]

*Silas nods and gets up, taking the cup from her paw to get some more water from the kitchen. He returns a moment later, sitting down and handing her the cup again.* Um, Here ye go... *He says.* Terragon is the 'Leaderess' of Terralux, I guess. She lives in Starsett Hollow just up the road here...

[tamar]

Thank ~hic~ you. *She rolled her eyes again and took a drink of the water. Then she tried holding her breath again, this time she held her nose with her paw and blew out her cheeks. Then again she hiccuped and began to giggle. She looked up at Silas* Have any ~hic~ ideas?

[Silas]

For the hiccups? *The squirrel thinks a moment, then looks back at her with his blue eyes again.* Well, what I do is I take a mouthful of water and gulp it down while holdin' my breath. It usually works... *He offers with a half-grin and a shrug.*

[tamar]

Tried ~hic~ it. *She puts a paw over her mouth giggling with hiccuping interspersed.* I'm sorry ~hic~ it's just ~hic~ so funny.
*she wasn't hurting now she could move her paws and she had resigned herself to the fact that this Silas was going to have to take care of her for a while. She might as well make the best of it.*

[Silas]

*Silas smiles as well, offering another solution, put more at ease when the squirrelmaid was in a better mood and physical condition.* 'Could try scaring them out of you or something... *He says, still smiling a little as he refilled his own cup with tea. He also puts another log into the fire to keep it going.*

[tamar]

I'll try ~hic~ anything *After she had said it she wondered if he had suggested something like kissing her if she would have submitted so willingly. The thought made her blush and look away. She was glad that Silas couldn't look into her head. She laughed again nervously trying to hide the moment of embarrassment, and forced herself to look at him once again. What had made her think such a thing, anyway? When she looked into his blue eyes she though she knew* ~hic~

[Silas]

*Silas, on the other paw, was just planning to help Tamar get better. When he had offered to try and help with the hiccups, (And though she was pretty), he did not think that he was going to kiss her as she so thought, however the thought was not completely absent, some small thing in his mind told him something about her. It was a jumble of... stuff. He would have to see about it later. If he chose to.*

Well, here. Just keep drinking somethin'. I think I have an idea. *He gets up out of his seat and offers to take Tamar's cup once again to fill it with water, or tea, intent on healing the squirrelmaid as best he could to send her on her way, but he wanted her to stay as well. The Leafback House-fort has been nearly empty for some time, and he usually spent time inside during the winter reading a book or two. It understandably got boring after he read each book a second time through.*

[tamar]

*She watched him get up and go to refill her drink. Then painfully she urged her footpaws over the side of the hammock and set them on the floor.* ~hic~ *she felt a little better sitting up; a little more in control*

[Silas]

*He walks back into the room with more water from the kitchen in the cup. He sits down and offers the cylindrical object to her again, letting the heat of the fire warm him up again. He blinks his blue eyes as he examines Tamar again, now sitting upright. No apparent injuries or anything apart from near-hypothermia. He opens his mouth and speaks again.*

So, uh, miss... Tamar... if you're really being bugged by the hiccups, just try not to talk as much, I guess. It helped me... *He shrugs.* But I guess you have some questions...? *He asks, thinking along the lines of answering questions about Terralux. However, he would most gladly provide any information she so requested from him.* I'd be happy to tell ye about Terralux and everything... *He offers, thinking that it might be something to do whilist sitting and waiting for the squirrelmaid to warm up.*

[tamar]

I'd like ~hic~ to hear more about Terralux. My ~hic~ grandfather told me stories he'd heard ~hic~ from travelers, but I'd love to hear about it ~hic~ from somebeast who's actually lived here. ~hic~ *Every time she hiccuped the hammock bounced or swayed a little. It was beginning to make her dizzy. She wished she had a more steady seat. Just sitting on the floor by the fire would be nice but she didn't know if her legs were strong enough to get her that far.*
*She didn't want to ask for help but she looked at Silas sheepishly. She decided she would try it on her own first. Standing up tentatively, she tried to put a little weight on her footpaws. The whole room spun and she put out a paw to catch herself.*

[Silas]

Careful-! *Silas manages to say before he sees Tamar start to fall. He grabs her paw, not wanting the pretty squirrelmaid to hit the floor at all. To furthur stop this descent, he also puts his other paw under her arm effectively catching her. It all worked great until that wave of awkwardness hits him, as he finds himself holding the squirrelmaid he hardly knew, nearly nose to nose with her.* Um...
