*Tamar really wished that her paws were free so she could drink the water on her own but she just smiled gratefully at the squirrel and leaned forward slightly to accept his help. The drink was refreshing on her parched throat but she didn't drink much. She'd heard that it could be dangerous to drink too fast after going through something like she had.* Thank you. *It was a little easier to speak now and she cleared her throat to ease the process even more.* You know my name. *She could wait to ask how he knew* What's yours?

*He holds the cup of water as he introduces himself to the squirrelmaid, inclining his head slightly in a miniature bow.* Um, Silas Hawkeye at y'service, miss. *He tells her his name, wondering why he always reflexively stuck to formal introductions. And there was something else there as he gave out his name, but he couldn't exactly discern what it was.* Uh, d'you need anything else, by the by? *He asks out of concern and hospitality.*

Silas *she repeated his name and attempted a smile. The pain was beginning to recede somewhat. She squirmed in the cloak that was tightly wrapped around.* I think if I could move I might be able to my blood flowing a little better.

Yeah, uh, sorry 'bout that. Caught up in the moment, I guess... *He unwrapped the cloak from Tamar's body, then puts the cup down on a nearby table nailed to the post next to the bed.* There you go... *Having done this, he sits down again, fidgeting a little with his claws. After a few seconds, he looks back up at her.* So, um, are you feeling any better, miss?

Thank you. I am a little. *Tamar tried to sit up a little more but it was difficult with the nature of the hammock she was lying in. So she laid back down and began to rub her paws together. She stretched and flexed them a few times and made a face. It was still a little painful but she could tell it was the good kind of pain, the kind that meant she wouldn't loose feeling or movement in the extremities. When she spoke again she couldn't look at the kind squirrel.* You saved my life.

*The statement makes the squirrel fidget again.* I was just doing what I could, miss... *He says, thinking,* I certainly couldn't leave you there to die, Tamar. *The last word in that sentence echoed in his mind, making him wonder about himself. Then, after a few moments of silence he went over and retrieved the teapot from the mantle and poured some tea into cups for both him and the squirrelmaid. This was better, since the action temporarily relieved him of fidgeting with his claws again.*

*she nodded. Of course she would have done they same. She wouldn't have left any creature out in the snow to freeze. He was a decent sort of beast, really, even if she didn't ask for the help.* *She was beginning to come back to herself now. Tamar Mooreland did not as for help. She could take care of herself. While he was getting the tea she tried to sit up again but her effort only left her in more pain and lying more disheveled than she had been before.* *The main problem was the fact that she was beginning to like him. She would never admit it to herself, of course, but still the feelings were there.*

Just relax, miss. It takes some time for everything to heal properly... *He says, relaying the advice he himself was given in his years of travelling. He picks up the two cups filled with tea, and sits down again.* Um, would ye like some tea? *He offers, setting his own cup down on the floor next to the chair-leg so his footpaw wouldn't knock it over. He looks back at Tamar, his blue eyes seeming to check her over for any other injuries she might have sustained.*

Yes, please. *She accepted with a frown. She hated being so helpless. How could his eyes be that blue? She realized she was staring. And why did he have to be so nice? She almost changed her mind and refused the offer of the tea but she didn't want to appear ungrateful and the tea did sound good*

*Silas hands over the cup of tea to the squirrelmaid and sits back, sipping his own tea. He notes her frown, but decides not to inquire upon the subject. Turning his gaze away into the fire for a little bit, he continues to sip his tea, letting it warm his insides. He also let up on the haphazard conversation for a bit, giving Tamar time to rest and try to enjoy her drink, as did he.*
*He thought for a minute or so, the firelight flickering in his eyes. Of course, there were still questions to be asked, things to talk about, but he felt like Tamar wasn't ready to do so in her condition. He could also tell that there was a fair amount of independant spirit in her, made evident by her change in mood as she was brought out of the cold. What created this was left to be seen, heightening his curiosity with her and her story. He takes another sip before speaking again, unsure of how to re-start conversation.* So, uh...

*His attempt at conversation after such a long silence startled her. She had been lost in thoughts of her own. The teacup jumped in her paws at the sound of his voice. Thankfully it was down to just the dregs.* Yes?

D'you remember what happened out there? *He decides to ask first, gesturing in the general direction of the door behind him, and the winds beyond throwing snow about. He had wondered where Tamar had come from, and what indeed ad happened to her to get the suirrelmaid in a position like that.*

*She looked to where he had pointed and heard the wind blowing on the other side of the stout door. It made her shiver slightly and she was glad to be out of it. She wondered where to begin with her story and thought a moment.*
*She looked up at Silas. Why did he have to look at her like that? Why did his eyes have to be so incredibly blue? She blinked and looked back down into her teacup and hoped that the blush that had come into her cheeks didn't show through her fur in the firelight.* It was silly really. I had just gone out to get more firewood.
*As she spoke the memory of it came back to her* It wasn't far and I had a lead rope to follow but I got a few steps away from the house and everything went white and then the wind just swept me away. *again she shivered and a touch of the fear that she had felt in that awful moment was present in her voice*
I couldn't see or hear anything but the snow and the wind and then I thought I saw a dark shape and I moved towards it. After that I don't remember anything until I saw you. *She looked up at him again suddenly embarrassed by her own ignorance that had caused the whole mess. She didn't want him to think her silly so she went on to explain* I had plenty of wood set by. I just should have had the hogs pile it closer to the house. I was only going to stay there until the weather cleared anyway. We were . . . I was on my way to Terralux.
*She realized then that she had no idea where she was* Where am I anyway?

*Silas listens to Tamar's story, nodding a little in understanding as she goes on to explain how some hedgehogs piled the wood farther from her home than she liked. But as the question came, he sits upright again, answering her with a slight bit of disbelief.* Why, miss, you've arrived. You're at Terralux.
*He thought she knew where she was in the world. One does not construct shelters on a whim. Though, in the world today, it seemed anything was possible....*

*She stared at him in shock. It couldn't possibly be true. Then tears came to her eyes and she could do nothing to stop them* I'm sorry *she appoligized for the sudden outburst* It's just that my grandfather always wanted to bring me here. We were on our way and . . . he got sick and . . . he died. *It was a moment before she spoke again* I've never been in this part of the country before. He had said we were close but I had no idea how close and then I was going to continue on my own but the winter was coming and . . . *Her speech drifted off again. She'd finally gotten here and her grandfather would never know. Or maybe he did. She looked up at the Silas again and tried to remember something that her grandfather had said.*
