Creating my own thread because I draw a lot, and will probably choke your existing one given half the chance. Besides, it's nice to keep everything in one place. Here's the pencils of a portrait of my character that I'm in the midst of coloring. I hope to have the colors and background done and the finished picture uploaded in a few days. If anyone would like a portrait of their character, let me know. You can just reply with a physicall description here, if you want. I'm trying to get warmed back up at drawing Redwally stuff, and would love the practice.

I love the tunic/corset. I draw in a similar style, but I hardly ever get the neck and tail right. *Intends to learn how to use a scanner and scan in better (Sorry, meant to say "best." Hope it didn't sound like I was saying "better drawings than Engel's." 'Cos y'know that's not possible.) drawings.* Would you mind drawing a portrait for me? If so (and only if you've the time and would like to): Name: Romula Heathrel Species: Vixen Fur Colour (I'm not sure if you do your portraits in black 'n' white): Reddish-Brown, cream/white-coloured throat. Eye Colour: Dark brown. Physical: Tall, slim, very pretty Clothing: Long red skirt; white, button-up, v-neck shirt; red bandanna on er head. Expression (if needed): Enigmatic smile. And, by the way, you've been awarded 30 crystal shards for your drawing.

Can you do one for me, if you've got time? I need something of Regen. I've been doing little character-sketches of him, but they aren't very good. If you're incredibly overbooked, that's ok. Regen is a tall squirrel, with black eyes and gold-brown fur. He wears a black tunic and a gold sash with gray trousers and black boots. Expression-wise....ehh...anything really goes, although a somewhat confused look would be really funny.

Name: Stoakly Centurio
I'd like one sorta like you did for the Art Competiton, only a banner. It has leaves on it, green of course, and says: Grayblade Island on it. Is that okay?

Pencils! Sorry about the wait, everyone -- life's been a little busier than I anticipated. Stoakly, I'm not quite sure what you mean. Could I have a slightly more thorough description?

OOC: So want one of these of Geordie. I can't draw to save my soul, but I'd love to have a pic of him.
Geordie Brushtail
Tall, muscular gray squirrel with blue-gray eyes
Clad in traditional kilt and tartan of the Brushtail clan (a green and brown everyday hunting tartan or a crimson, dove gray, and ash gray ceremonial tartan); Geordie wears the plaid in the traditional manner, kilt about his waist and the plaid crossing over his right shoulder to his left hip, held in place over his long tunic (pale green with the hunting tartan, cream colored with the ceremonial) by a Celtic knot work and thistle brooch at the shoulder. A bark cloth sporran with feather trim hangs from his wide, stiff bark cloth sword belt, an ornate silver buckle with a thistle and heather design adorning its center. He typically goes barefoot.
A basket-hilted claymore (a long broadsword) hangs at his left hip, a dirk (blade halfway between a knife and a short sword) at his right. The tiny sghian dhu (also known as a sock knife) peeks out from its anchorage in the folds of the tartan, just below the brooch.

Of course, Geordie! ;D
One question, though. I know family tartans can be very particular, so I'd like to be as accurate as possible when coloring your pic. Could you send me a reference for the pattern (stripe color, width, etc) of the ceremonial one? Even something knocked out in MS Paint would be fine -- just to get me a general idea of how it looks.

Thanks. I'm doing the inks on it as we speak, and from there colored pencil. Tinsy, I'm warning you right now that yours is going to take a bit longer to color -- I'm experimenting with "tavern lighting" and seeing if I can get that shadows-and-golds thing down.

Enegl, it is kinda green-ish, lighter though, with leaves in the backround like from fall when the leaves fall. Is that any better?

OOC: This is a basic idea of what I've always imagined as the Brushtail clan tartan img62.imageshack.us/my.php?image=startan3oq8.jpgThe wide crimson stripes applies only to the horizontal; they remain thin on the vertical. Oh, if you need an expression, Geordie tends to be a jolly soul with a jar of potcheen or his bodhran under his arm.

Hi everyone! Progress update: Romula: inked, half-colored Regen: Inked Geordie: Prelim pencils Stoakly banner: prelim pencils Here's a slightly trippy one-off drawing I did as a study break, in the meantime. I love Roman history/mythology, and I saw mention on the board of Romula and omens, and . . . well.. What can I say. I'm a sucker for a good Roman name. "Vultures on the Aventine" Based on the story here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romulus_and_Remus#The_founding_of_Rome

Well, Romula is a wolf in something I was writing a while back, and she basically founds the New Clan after there's mutiny and stuff (hard to explain without shoving four chapters under your nose). Anyway, nice picture. Reminds me of Verdauga Greeneyes (sorry if you don't find that complimentary).
Wait a sec', I see why it's Romulus and Remus (we have to take Latin at school) - there's the vultures that they used to predict who would be king? - And the brother's are glaring at each other.
