OOC: Meh. Not a very catchy title for a quest, but it can be easily distinguished from all the other threads entitled "Quest," "A Quest," "Another Quest," etc., that I started earlier in the year. BIC: *The snow is beginning to fall as Terragon wanders into the Village Square. The water on the stone rim of the fountain is beginning to freeze and she pulls a scarf and cloak tighter about herself. She approaches the now leaf-less tree in the centre of the Square and, from the satchel-bag, slung over her shoulder, Terragon takes a scroll of parchment. This she holds against the tree with one paw, while the other delves deeper into the satchel, finally surfacing clutching two nails and a small hammer, borrowed from the Forge.* *With much struggle, Terragon finally manages to flatten the parchment scroll and fix it untidily to the tree: "Residents of Terralux
There will be a short expedition into Mossflower on Tuesday to one of the shrines to St. Ninian and the Brockhall trading post. This is due to the current lack of supplies in Terralux as a result of the necessary building of a chapel within our borders. It is hoped that this visit will be used to recruit more creatures into the building work and to pay respects to the now Patron-Saint of Terralux, Ninian. Those wishing to join the expedition are urged to bring cloaks and clothing suitable for snowy and cold weather and to meet by the Arch of Terralux promptly at the third hour. No dibbuns.
Yours, Terragon Scrufftail-Canopy, Leaderess of Terralux *A similar message has been pinned up near the Apothecary, in the hope that Lonas will come to the trading post with the others. No Ashnel, so we'll need somebeast who knows what he's talking about when we get to the post. Terragon makes her way quickly back to Starsett Hollow, grimacing as she notices the snow is beginning to settle on the ground and the treetops. The trip can't wait. Tuesday.*

*Stoakly strolls into the Village Square, wearing a long black cloak, finely hemmed and sewed, with a red scarf around his neck and big top-hat upon his head. Like a ferret version of the transformed Ebeneezer Scrooge, he chuckles while patting two small mice on the head and handing them two candied chestnuts and hums, "Wherever You Find Love." The ferret sees Terragon post up the message and shrugs, wondering what it could be. Though he wasn't that curious, for if it brought him out of the village, he would decline. Staring at the paper, he sighs and turns to see Terragon walking off in the freezing snow.*
Terragon! *He calls, running in his long cloak. The ferret hops and bounds, leaping over a bench and promising himself that he hasn't gotten old, and then lands next to Terragon.* Hello, Miz Scrufftail. With all due respect, I've been back in this 'ere village fer less 'an a week. I still have some people t' see, like Jalvert' th' Dormouse. 'is mission'll take me farther away. If'n you really wish me to go along, as duties as a Woodland Cap'n or anything, I shall go. However, if you don't nessecarily need me, I can stay 'ere an' watch over Terralux. *Stoakly looks at Terragon in a pleading stare.*

*Terragon turns, her eyebrows raised and her face pleasantly startled. She smiles when she recognises Stoakly.* Of course, *She says seriously.* Hell's teeth, I wish I didn't have to go, with the snow and everything. *Terragon holds up a paw to indicate the falling snowflakes.* But there's nobeast to go in Ashnel's place. *Though her smile doesn't fade, something in the squirrel's eyes as she looks up at Stoakly dares him to ask what has happened.* It's fine, *Terragon murmurs finally, suddenly.* The trading post's not too far away. *She turns as though to head back to Starsett Hollow again, but pauses and glances back.* Mulled wine at Starsett Hollow? Danniar was making it as I left. Should be ready soon.

*Stoakly bites back at the question that has been on his tongue, and sees by the expression in Terragon's face that the matter is not a happy one. The ferret sighs with relief as she offers him wine and he nods,* I could use some. Before you leave, I have to ask you something. When I returned, Ashnel, Lonas, you, and Danniar all seemed to be in bad spirits. I asked you what happened when I was away, and you said that gypsies raided. That couldn't have been it. *The ferret continues to walking to Starsett Hollow and finally blurts out the question.* What really happened when I was away, where's Reg' and Tinsy, and where on earth has the ol' guys I used to lead like Strongpaw and Lyman gone?

*For a long moment, Terragon tenses and it seems she will either turn on her heel and march away or continue to stare at the ferret forever.* Danniar can explain better than I can, *When it comes, Terragon's response is quiet and not at all unkind. But the sense that the subject is awkward for all is ever-present and the squirrel's eyes dart unmistakable towards the Whispering Willow for an instant.* I'll tell you back at Starsett Hollow.
OOC: Advance quest?

Lonas comes strolling up soon after. He'd been on his way to the Whispering Willow (for breakfast, as there's no food left in the Nest), but had been accosted by Rippla before he got there. In his paw was a somewhat worn piece of parchement, with writing...the note about the Trading Post. Rippla had shoved it at him, rather irritably, and informed him that "just because the Apothecary is a village store does not mean that advertisements can be placed up at will, Mister Eale, and could we perhaps get the oak tree out before it begins to drop leaves..." (That was the longest sentence he'd heard out of Rippla in weeks, actually. Sometimes, when the weasel was feeling chatty, he spoke even more.)
"Ah! Terragon! Rippla gave me this charming note earlier t'day..with his compliments, as always...an' Baraka swears he didn't put it up as a joke, so could it be that we're goin' somewhere?" "Hi Stoakly," he added, smiling apologetically. He hadn't noticed the ferret for a moment, busy as he was thinking. This was a suprise, as Terralux hadn't really shown much interest in trade before. This was fairly common around secluded woodland villages, and explained why their economies tended to be so..pathetic.

*Terragon smiles her greeting quickly.* We need more building materials and a larger work force for St. Ninian's. And, *She adds honestly.* T'be honest, we need the trade. *The change of subject comes quickly and with barely a pause.* Lonas, I don't suppose you happen to know anything about the Order of St. Ninian? Ashnel knew more than I did and even then, he seemed reluctant to tell me anything, so I suppose he wasn't sure...? *Terragon trails off questioningly and smiles again at the parchment in Lonas' paw. With Rippla's compliments? She laughs.*

*Oakrose and Darron are seen bustling towards the small group wearing heavy cloaks, snow boots, and light packs on their backs. Oakrose pulls a note out of her pocket, much like Lonas', only from a much more agreeable Soilrose. It reads: Oakrose, We'll need some flour, crystallized honey, and any other staples you think we need. Enjoy yourself, and stay safe, Soilrose [/blockquote][/i][/b] Oakie, Don't let Darron do any stupid things, please. I'd like some wine-colored silk, I've been wanting a new blouse for a while. You'll find a dozen gold coins attached to this note. Your loving cousin, Mayyie *Showing the note to Terragon, she blushes slightly and grins.* If we're going to a Trading Post, the girls need some supplies. Also, if shops are goig to be opened later, I'd like to get some supplies for mine. The Copperlin gold I won from the Summer fair should be good, shouldn't it?

*Terragon raises a paw in greeting to the newest arrivals.* Oh... I should think they accept Copperlin currencies. They'd probably even trade for Terraluxian Dragonflies, if you could prove where they came from. *Of all the things Terralux could be well-known for, it's for dragonflies... It doesn't cross the squirrel's mind for one moment that Darron is accompanying Oakrose. She'd barely even noticed the other was there until now she stops suddenly, trying not to glance between him and Lonas.*

*Oakrose can't help but to notice Terri's look at Darron, and sighs. She looks up quickly at Lonas, then, feeling her companion's eyes on her, she stares at her footpaws.* So, Terri, are we getting anything for the village, or the spring festival? Or for St. Ninians?

For St. Ninian's, yes, *Terragon says simply.* And maybe for the new shops opening in Terralux, (OOC: The Apothecary has competition, Rippla!). We're setting off tommorrow at around the third hour from the Arch. But I'd better go now, because I've promised this ferret - *And here, she waves a vague paw at Stoakly.* - mulled wine. *Terragon doesn't mention the wine being at Starsett Hollow, least Oakrose is jealous for not being invited. The squirrel smiles a brief farewell and waits for Stoakly.*

Okay, I was just wondering. Right, by the Arch at 3 tomorrow. We were going on a hike, and meeting Mayyie for the day. She's already left, to set up a camp for breaks. Bye! *Oakrose and Darron wave, and leave for their hike in the snowy woods.*
OOC: I needed an excuse for their packs. I was mistaken, thought they were leaving now.

OOC: Third hour = 9 o' clock, (in the summer). This is based partly on Roman ways of telling the time, (1st hour would be dawn, when most woke up).

OOC: Is now okay? If not, I'll repost later. BIC: *Two squirrels were waiting by the Terraluxian Arch. The dark brown-furred male tapped his foot impatiently.* C'mon, I wanna go already! Darron, be patient! Maybe they already left? No, don't be silly, they couldn't leave without your pretty face coming along. *Oakrose's paw seemed to react like lightening as she reached over and smacked her companion on the arm.* Don't you ever try to flatter me, especially if you kiss me- mmmmurph! *Darron had leaned over from his spot on the wall and, like Oakrose had said, kissed her.* What in HELLGATES was that for? I just said not to! You said 'Kiss me', so I did. *She reached her paw up and pressed it to his throat, where his breathing tube was. She cut off his air for about two seconds, then smacked him around the waist.* Ow, Rose! My daggers were there! *He pulled back a navy cloak to reveal his set of daggers. Four shiny steel blades glimmered in the sunlight.* Darron! You're supposed to keep the covers on them! Go on, put them on! *He reluctantly pulls out four things that look like dagger-blade shaped book-covers and slips them on.* A'right, c'mon, where are they at?

Lonas had wandered off to dispose of the paper about the trading post, tossing it into a specific bin by the Apothecary marked 'old parchements.' The stuff was expensive enough that it had to be saved when done with. Prob'ly should get that money Reg' has saved... He strolls into the shop, tripping over various supplies on the floor, digs around behind the counter, and comes up with a jar of coins. Most of them are Copperlin currency, with some Spanish coins and a few shards mixed in. Rippla comes out to watch as the golden squirrel dumps about three-quarters of them into a small cloth bag and stuffs the thing in his pocket. He replaces the coins, stands, and considers a small array of weaponry - mainly knives and daggers, as well as his cutlass - that he might bring. Normally, he wouldn't have bothered, but traveling through Mossflower without arms of some type wasn't really smart. Unless... "Y' comin? We could use some kind of guard along, if y' know what I mean.." Rippla smirks a bit and nearly raises an eyebrow. "I doubt your friend would be pleased to see me." "Huh?" Lonas picked up a small jeweled dagger, changed his mind, and dropped it back on the table of weaponry. "Which 'un?" "The squirrelmaid." Rippla sounded a bit irritated. Lonas turned and looked outside. "...oh. Aye, I catch yer meanin'." He decided on the dagger after all, slid the weapon into his belt (it fit well, having been specially designed to be hidden in such way), and smiled, a bit nervously. "Well, good day then...ye c'n tell Regen where I've gone." "He won't mind," the weasel comments. Lonas nods once or twice, settles his red cloak over his shoulders, and leaves the shop.
Terragon, Oakrose, that one fellow..um, Darron, and myself. Lonas paused before he reached the group to look them over. We oughta be all right..likely everybeast's carrying weaponry with 'em. The golden squirrel, smiling lightly, strolled the last few paces forward. "I'm ready. Hi Oakrose, Darron." Lonas smiled politely at the two, glancing this last over in a vague sort of way. He'd have something on him, most likely. Terragon perhaps. Oakrose..well, she didn't usually carry weapons. But then, neither did he.
