*Cuoha follows Silas silently. Every so often, she thinks she sees a beast under a plank of wood, but as she crouches down for a closer look, she realises it is just a hallucination. She hits herself on the head.* Urgh! *She becomes worried about the effect her grief is having on her brain.*

*Silas looks at Cuoha when she hits her paw against her forehead.* You alright? *He questions, slightly concerned. He had his own share of sympathy and grief over the beasts that died in the flooding, despite not knowing any of them. Silas agreed with himself that he, as well as the rest of the world, has seen enough bloodshed and loss of life. The flood reinforced this point of view heavily in his mind.*

*Cuoha looks up, startled.* What? Oh yes, sorry, I'm fine. I just keep seeing mirages of dead bodies. All this death is disturbing. I just can't believe it could happen to such innocent beasts.

It can... *Silas says, heaving a sigh heavy with weariness.* I've seen events like this... But it doesn't make it any less devastating... *He walks, still looking for any signs of life among the wreckagealmost tripping when his paw gets caught in between timbers.*

*Cuoha sees a furry head poking out from underneath a plank, but dismisses it as one of her hallucinations. However, she hears a faint moan, and bends down for a closer look.* Er, Silas, I think this is an otter, but I'm not sure. It's covered in mud and weeds. Either way, it's definitely alive. *Cuoha starts caringly picking the weeds off the survivor .*

*Silas glances at the indicated spot, and starts checking over the mud-covered beast for injuries.* Hello? Can you hear me? *He calls out to see if the beast is responsive. If not, they might have to take extra care with the injured beast. Silas did know some healing skills, but not much, and he left his backpack with all the necessary materials in his residence.*

*Cuoha hears the injured beast murmur gently.* I think he can hear you, Silas. We'd better be careful; he looks in a very delicate state. *She crouches down to take a better look.*

Well, There's nothing I can do... I left my healing supplies back in my backpack... *Silas informs, rather downcast.*

*Cuoha realises there is no chance that Silas' backpack would have survived.* Oh. I don't have anything either. *She gently strokes the injured beast's head, who she now realises to be a mouse.*

*Silas glances at the injured creature, then makes up his mind.* I'll go for help. *he says, getting ready to jump into a nearby tree, and do what squirrels do best.*

Er...I'm not sure if you'll find anybeast who can help. *Cuoha says, thinking Silas is more likely to stumble across more injured beasts that she will end up feeling responsible for.*

OOC: As you command...
BIC: *Silas stops in mid-step, knowing that Cuoha was most likely right.* Well, we have to do something. *he then scouts around for anything they can use, clothing to use for bandages, herbs, shelter, supplies... But the only useful substance around was the water, and that was filthy with the wreckage of the house-boats, not to mention the occupants of those same house-boats.* Hey, uh, Cuoha, you know anything about healing? *He questions, having no idea if Cuoha knew any medical procedures. Of course, being a soldier, he himself knew a few, but only the basics. And they needed a lot more than that for sure.*

*Cuoha bites her lip, desperately hoping they will be able to do something for the injured mouse.* Er, not really, no. I've never had to look after injured beasts. Do you know much about healing? *Cuoha prays silently that Silas is more educated in the art than her.*

I know some methods, but I'm not exactly a healer... *He informs, now trying to recall what he had learned during basic training. He picks up a somewhat clean piece of fabric, recognizing it as a bedsheet. It'll have to do... he thinks, ripping it into strips.* Can you see any cuts, bleeding, anything o' that sort on 'im? *He questions.*
