Hey all, it's been a while. How are you all doing? Anything interesting happening IRL?
I've just finished the first year of my English Lit/French/Portuguese course (hooray for the Scottish/American system allowing us to be indecisive about our subject choices) and now have the dubious honour of being able to call myself an arts blogger. I don't know how this happened either. I really don't.
I've moved into a rented apartment near the city centre with a bunch of friends and am feeling pretty grown up at the moment.
What adventures have befallen yous?

Indeed it has been awhile! Mwahaha I have arisen from the dead! Again... um.. That sounded much more menacing in my head. hehe. Forget I said that ^^ The most interesting thing in my life right now is that I've moved into a rented house and... well, much like what you've done. Adventures have been making it through my freshman year of college with minimal casualties . What does it mean, to be an art blogger? But that course sounds really interesting, how'd you get such a wide variety??

Welcome back! It's good to hear from you again. Ah, I see we're at the same stage at the moment. What subject(s) are you studying? First year is quite a minefield, isn't it... Ha, being an arts blogger means blogging about free art exhibitions and fancy exhibitions that I can blag my way into, films (mostly short, independent films from the E'burgh Film Festival) and a heck of a lot of music. It's far less glamourous than it sounds. The protagonist of the last film I reviewed was a suicidal ostrich glove puppet. Yeah. The Scottish university system allows humanities/arts students to take two outside courses alongside their major subject for the first two years. It was what drew me to applying for a Scottish uni, being an indecisive creature.

It's good to see there are people from way back when that are still around. I randomly made the decision to check out some of the RP sites I used to live on, I'm feeling rather nostalgic. I am currently studying Wildlife Biology. I've scratched the surface with my basic science classes that I have to take, and this fall I'm starting to get a little more complicated stuff. It should prove to be interesting. The first year was so crazy! O.o I had a different experience though, because I roomed with an upper classman and hung out with all of her friends, instead of all the other freshmen (for the most part). So because of that, I missed out on a lot of the get-to-know-each-other activities, but it was still really fun. This year's promising to be a lot more adjusting than last year though, because I'm going to have to get up earlier since I'm living off campus now. Oh well, it'll still be fun, I'm sure. Well, with the puppet... You have to start somewhere, right? It still sounds really cool, and I'm sure you get to see your share of some really intriguing stuff. You'll work your way up to the high-end stuff. That's something I love about my American University. I can take whatever courses I want, it'll just take me a lot longer to graduate if I don't take the required courses as well. What sort of subject matter are you leaning more towards?

I was getting nostalgic too. I occasionally wonder in moments of madness whether to try and restart Terralux RP during the summer breaks and see how much interest is still left.
Wildlife Biology? Is that similar to Zoology, or am I confusing two totally different things? Sounds far more studious than English Lit!
I had a similar experience to you with first year. Somehow, despite not being a particularly sentimental person, I ended up in an extremely intense, long-term relationship with someone who never socialised and felt that I ought not to either. I've managed to get really involved with the theatre soc that I really wanted to join (this particular society was a big contributing factor in deciding to apply to this uni! Sad but true), so things are looking gooood for second year. Was living on campus not for you? I found halls a little challenging too, though they were good for making friends in the first few weeks.
That's what I keep telling myself when I re-read the ostrich review. I'm supposed to be reviewing some more of the same director's stuff, so we'll see how that goes...
I really enjoy English Lit but the Modern Languages are much more useful and employable. I graduate in summer 2016 a few months before the Olympics and am currently studying Portuguese - I think it could be a useful one to keep! Particularly if I spend some time in Rio during the year abroad. What're you looking to do with Wildlife Biology?

I apologize for being so sporadic!
Wildlife Biology is very similar to Zoology, as far as I can tell. I think my university used to have Zoology as a major, but not anymore. I actually just finished the degree a couple weeks ago! And if you stayed your original course, you should be almost done as well (congrats either way)!
Are you still involved in the theatre society and studying Portuguese? And no, campus life wasn't perfect. It was wonderful for being able to get that extra fifteen minutes of sleep and everything being fairly close, but other than that, heh. I really wanted a bathroom of my own, or even to just share with one or two people, rather than sharing with twenty people. It was also nice to almost never have to prepare my own food, but that's okay. Totally been there with that type of relationship. Sometimes, they can be tough to get out of... or even to recognize where the issue is. Hope all is well, now!
Ooh, have you already done your year abroad? I've always wanted to travel like that, and I've heard that Brazil is a wonderfully fun place to go! Are you planning on attending the 2016 Olympics? I have no idea how I want to apply my degree, but luckily most careers that are open to me now are mostly worried about the fact that I completed a degree at all. So for awhile, I'll be floating (working retail) until my fiance graduates. Then life will really get hectic.
