OOC: Brian Blessed, what a legend. ;D He was presenting a comedy program a couple of months back and it seems he really does speak (shout?) like that, complete with the same sledgehammer hand gestures, lol. Great actor, love 'Blackadder.' Very surprised you guys over the pond watch it though, I assumed it was an English thing, as all great things are, of course, lol. : P BIC: *It becomes clearer upon reaching the stairs of how old the building actually is. Instead of the thin, precarious steps worn down by generations of footpaws, the pale stone is cleanly cut, spiralling neatly up to the small belltower, the ascent broken only by a doorless arch leading off at the monastry's second floor before continuing upwards.* *Kael leads the way with Terragon behind him, peeking back at Geordie to assure herself the other is alright while Ashnel follows behind the grey squirrel, a brief exchanging of glances between him and Terragon at the foot of the staircase confirming that - should Geordie slip on the steps - the former captain stands a better chance of catching him.*

OOC: Of course, Monty Python and its great genius, John Cleese, came from over there. I love to watch Fawlty Towers, especially. Now, as far as Blackadder goes, my older brother is a huge Rowan Atkinson fan, and not just the Mr. Bean stuff. He's got seasons of Thin Blue Line and all of the Blackadder stuff.
I think I saw that program; my brother showed me a clip on YouTube from it anyway. It was great!
My favorite Blackadder line is "The good book says, love thy neighbor as thyself. Unless he is a Turk, in which case you kill the B******!" But the "I like not this news" sketch was pretty good too...
The line I quoted before was from his very short appearance in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves with Kevin Costner.
BIC: *Geordie eyes the stairs dubiously, ostensibly bending down to examine the stonework. Then, taking a deep breath, he begins to make his way up in a kind of hopstep, putting as little weight on the injured footpaw as possible and keeping his arms out for balance, pawtips lightly brushing the walls on either side of the narrow staircase.*

OOC: 'I like not this news...' awesome sketch, love it. I think Hugh Laurie's ad-libbed lines in one of the Georgian episodes are great too (think he stumbles over a line and ends up pretending to be a chicken? It works, strangely).
BIC: *Though the tower is barely taller than the tree in which Starsett Hollow rests, the spiralled staircase makes progress slow but finally, Kael reaches a heavy wooden door which he unlocks with a key from his pocket. He holds it open for the squirrels, grinning proudly as they step out into the bell tower. Terragon, who has been here before, makes her way straight to one of the arched, glassless windows and gazes out, the clean autumn breeze from the sea making her smile too as it sweeps through her fur. Ashnel having decided that Geordie will not stumble over the low threshold, turns his attention to the single, huge bell overhead and the room around him.* *The bell tower is circular with a rough, dark wood floor and stone walls. A staircase on one side hugs the wall and leads up to another wooden level above, at the same height as and surrounding the bell. Below this staircase is a lone straw mat which Ashnel assumes must be where their guide sleeps. Half a dozen scrolls and books are balanced on top of one another beside it, many of the titles on the spine in Latin. Ashnel makes no attempt to recall the little Latin he learnt in the Pine Groves and turns his attention once more to the bell. A thin rim of inscriptions encircle the dull gold-coloured metal and it is these that the squirrel squints up at, trying to decipher.*

OOC: It's Hugh Laurie...duh! Don't recall that episode though. The ones I remember best are the WWII ones and the medieval ones with Brian Blessed.
"I'm as English as Queen Victoria!" "So your father's German, you're half-German, and you married a German?" Awesome stuff...
BIC: *Geordie navigates the doorway with little difficulty and stands gazing about the room. He glances up at the big bell, whistling appreciatively, and then looks across the room at Kael.* Naow, see lad, Ah'd be scairt te live under that largish piece o' metal up yonder. Ye dinna worry that it moight fall on ye in your sleep?

*Kael adopts a look of mock-terror.* Well now, I'd never thought of that but now you've gone and said it I'm nearly scared to death. *Feigning a nervous twitch to Terragon's amusement, Kael backs away from the centre of the room.* Such a shame, Kael, *Ashnel answers with a grin.* You'll have to move out of St. Ninian's into the Whispering Willow now. *Kael drops the nervous twitch suddenly and shakes his head with an apologetic smile.* ... wouldn't want to leave St. Ninian's really, *He tells the dark-furred squirrel seriously looking fondly around the tower.* Despite the risks! *He adds, shooting a grin at Geordie.* But what else would you like to see in the monastery? *The otters asks, changing the subject suddenly as he resumes the role of guide.* By the clock down in the hall it'll be a fair amount of time before somebeast comes up here to ring the bell, so there's not much more to see, though the view out of the window's certainly impressive. OOC: Eek, suddenly realised I've been spelling monastery incorrectly for the best part of two years. Better change the Guild board name...
