*Geordie stands up and does an improvised dance step, wincing a little but steady on his feet.* Naow then, how aboot seein' this chapel, aye? If'n Ah have anae problems, Ah'll jest lean on tha Braw Terri here, *he adds, looping one arm around Terri's shoulder.*

Sounds fair enough, *Terragon agrees, with mock reluctance, a small smile creeping across her face again. Kael leads the way to the door, Ashnel seizing a third oatcake before following.* *The chapel is not too far from Starsett Hollow and Kael tactfully chooses the route that does not lead past the village square, judging this not to be the moment to announce Geordie's return to the world.* *Built of pale stone in a clearing of grass - an unfilled graveyard, Terragon realises for the first time - St. Ninian's Chapel's spire barely reaches to the tops of the trees at the meadow's edge. Kael pauses and grins at his companions.* Here we are. What do you think, Geordie? Built partly of stone from the quarry a little north of here, but mostly just of balast from ships that've docked near Salamandastron. Took a team of maybe two hundred creatures - some from Terralux, some from Mossflower and a couple from the mountain - nearly seven seasons to complete, but it's built and not a bad place to live in either, I can tell you from personal experience. *He pauses then inclines his head in the direction of the chapel door.* Shall we go in?

*Geordie nods in assent, not leaning visibly on Terragon. His footpaw seems to be fine, though he does walk with a limp.*
Aye laddie, why doan ye gi' me tha goided tour then. It's a fair eno' buildin' te be sure.

*The doorway leads straight into the chapel and it's small wooden pews. Only the very top, circular section of the window at the front of the building is stained - the others made of thin, clear glass - depicting a bright yellow star surrounded by a deep blue sky. A wide stone font stands at the back of the chapel and a simple wooden altar at the front but asides from these, the place is bare and very clean, it's paved floor devoid of dust or mud from visitors' footpaws. Kael bows his head slightly as he enter. Ashnel is the first through the door after him and with some embarrassment does not follow the otter's example but stands to one side, arms folded behind his back, feeling highly out of place in the chapel. Terragon glances at her cousin but decides not to concern herself and nods in agreement as Kael speaks.* The building attached to this is where the others and I live. As you can see, the chapel's relatively simple, the living quarters are more interesting. And the politics there far more, *He murmurs uncharacteristically as an afterthought.*

*Geordie gives Ashnel a quizzical look, but shrugs and follows Kael inside. He whistles appreciatively at the architecture, staring about him. His remaining ear pricks up at Kael's words and he turns to him with a lopsided grin.*
Och, Ah ken ye fer a nor'lander, se politickin' should be an ole game te ye, aye? There's plenny o' intrigue in tha Highlands, that's fer sartain.

OOC: Ashnel's deeply uncomfortable with organised religion, lol.
BIC: *Kael gives a wry smile,* Very true, it's partly the reason why I travelled, politics and suchlike. Then I found that the politics are almost as bad even in a tiny place like Terralux! *Terragon rolls her eyes in agreement, Ashnel nodding darkly.* But if you'd like to follow me, *Kael continues, pointing to a small wooden door on the west side side of the chapel.* *Through the door is a low passage that both Ashnel and Kael have to bow their heads to walk along.* You'd have thought, *Kael calls back to the others, still the informative guide, though his voice is faintly muffled.* That in such a recent building, they'd have higher ceilings but perhaps they weren't expecting anybeast other than mice and red squirrels.

OOC: Don't think Geordie knows that, so the quizzical look remains.^^
*Geordie ducks his head a little, but not being as tall as Ashnel has little trouble navigating the hallway.* Ye'd think, aye? Were ye nae here for tha buildin' o' it, then, Kael? If'n they didnae ken te make tha ceilin's hoigher...

I was here for the best part of the building of the chapel but the architecture had been planned out long before I arrived, *Kael calls back.* Probably before I'd even left the Northlands. *Though his face cannot be seen, his voice carries another grin.* I got to help with the building of the spire and the tower though. I've got my room in the tower, *The otter sounds almost dibbunishly enthuastic as he tells the grey squirrel.*

*Geordie smiles at Kael's enthusiasm, then grimaces as his paw lets out a warning twinge of pain.* Och lad, Slow down! Me ole footpaw's warnin' me te take it easy, naow. Is there someat Ah could sit and rest fer a moment?

I'm sorry, I forgot, *Kael begins to apologise and glances along what remains of the passage.* Just a little way now and then we'll reach the main room. Are you alright to walk to there or do you need me or Ashnel to help you? Or Terri, of course, *The otter adds hastily, shooting Terragon an apologetic look least the squirrel has taken offence at the exclusion of her name.*

*Geordie winks rogueishly at Kael.* Och, an' if'n Ah need te be carrit, Ah'm sure tha braw Terri is more than up fer tha task. What say ye, lass? *He adds, leaning into Terragon and putting more of his weight on her.* Ah'm loight as anae feather, roight?

*Terragon chooses not to reply but gives Geordie a doubtful look and a half-smile. Kael is right and the passage ends a few metres ahead, widening out into a small hall with a high, beamed ceiling. A few benches and tables are scattered in clusters around the room and beneath the crystal-glass windows are wide, wooden window seats.* Here we are, Geordie. The main hall. Most meals and meetings are held here, not much more to say about it than that... that big clock above the passage door here is the only chiming clock in all of the living quarters... carvings above it, leaves and suchlike. Nothing too interesting in this room. Are you supposed to be this honest? *Terragon asks with a grin.* No, *Kael replies deftly, returning the grin.* But I think a bit of honesty could do me a favour in the next life; I'm going to need all the help I can get.

*Geordie laughs and bends to get a closer look at the carvings.* Ach, Ah cannae ken why ye'd want a bloody great clock choimin' awa' all tha toime...gi'e me a froightful headache, se it would.
Naow, Ah'm as fer honesty as tha next creature, Kael, but what did ye mean ye need all tha help ye can get? *he added, turning a quizzical eye on the otter.* Ye havnae done summat wrong, have ye?

Silence has to be kept in the cloisters too, so no clocks chiming there, *Kael nods.* Hasn't everybeast? *He jokes at Geordie's question.* And do you think you'll be alright to go up the stairs? *The otter asks, the sudden question causing Terragon to double-take for a moment before she understands.* Are we going up to the bell tower, then? *Kael grins broadly.* Of course, when Geordie's ready. That footpaw has to take it easy and so does he.
OOC: To the stairs? Or do you want to RP the entire tour, lol?

OOC! To the stairs! For God, and King Richard! lol, my brother's D&D character was based on Brian Blessed, so now I've got various lines from Black Adder, etc. running through my head.
BIC:*Geordie smirks and makes a noncommittal, typical Highland noise in the back of his throat at the otters retort. Listening, he ponders for a moment before nodding to Kael.* Ach, 'n Ah think Ah'll be foine laddie, jest walk slow an' be ready te lend me a shoulder fer tha steps. Ah donna kenn that Terri can support me there.
