1. Nimbalo's Rhyme
By Cheek Lamar'o
“There’s many’s the path that I ain’t trod,
Nor even been before there,
An’ yet it seems as close to me,
As some ole coat I’ve wore, sir.
Some streams’n’rivers, rocks’n’fields,
That I have come upon, sir,
I’m seein’ them for my first time,
Yet I knows every one there.
Now was I here ten seasons back,
Did I sit ‘neath that tree there,
An’ if I pass this way agin,
Then will I meet meself, sir?”
2. A Ballad of Brocktree
By Mona Aesyna
Long ago, long ago,
And far away, far away,
Lived a mighty badger lord
Whom we speak of to this day.
He ruled all of Mossflower
In peace and harmony.
And all the woodland creatures
Were safe, happy, and free.
Long ago, long ago,
And far away, far away.
But then a strange thing happened
That often happened to badger lords.
He set for Salamandastron
With his courage and his sword
And left in charge of Mossflower,
Another badger male.
But like his father, this lord, too.
Went to the mountain through the gale.
Long ago, long ago,
And far away, far away.
Boar the Fighter left Barkstripe in charge,
But he was sadly slain.
And none but young Sunflash remained
And Barkstripe's saddened mate.
Sunflash fought against the wildcats
Who were meanly invading,
But there were far too many and
The somehow stopped his heart beating.
Long ago, long ago,
And far away, far away.
Lord Greeneyes was not so bad
As woodlanders would have thought.
He let them live and farm the land
While he bravely fought.
But then his vicious daughter.
Framed his son for the lord's poisoning
She had all of Mossflower
Under her ferocious tyranny.
Long ago, long ago,
And far away, far away.
Though the woodlanders fled helplessly,
They'd later stop the reign,
Of who had caused them all this pain.
Long ago, long ago,
And far away, far away.
Yes, long ago, long ago,
And far away...
3. To the Frontiers of the Sun
By Terragon Scrufftail
In the dawning of days,
When the earth still was young,
I watched you go unto the sun.
Though the light was still small,
And the hope fading more,
I'll remember you as you marched away.
But when the sun meets the land,
At the end of each day,
We rejoice in our quiet way of life.
Now the seasons have gone past,
And though you've nev'r returned,
A mem'ry steals a shadow across my mind.
Though you're still long-gone,
And the day lost,
I'll remember you when you never looked back.
So when the sun meets the earth,
At the end of each day,
We'll remember the lonely, quiet way of life.
But I'll fight every day,
Like the one before,
As you march away like you did before.
I'll watch you go,
And then I know I'll see,
To follow in the footsteps you made for me.
And when the sun meets the earth,
At the end of each day,
Remember me, and what I did say.
When the sun meets the earth,
Remember me,
Though the dust bites the grave,
And life's short-lived.
When the days have gone by,
For you know that you'll die,
Whisper my words,
For I followed him,
To the frontiers of the sun.
4. Squirrel Village
By Triska Longtail
All us squirrels swing through the trees
Evil stoats dominate the seas
You may think we are cute and fluff
But if need be we will fight tough
Bows and arrows
Messages by sparrows
We win all wars
No blood on our paws!!
Yes we are the squirrel village
Yes we are !!
5. Halloween (Dare you Read On?)
By Audrey & Co.
**Audrey and Vinepaw, as well as their rabbitmaid friend, Belle, waltz up in their halloween costumes. Audreys a werewolf, with fake ears and two pointy fangs, Belle's an angel, and Vinepaws a... CARROT?? They burst into a short Halloween song**
Oh, if your going to halloween,
Be prepared for a fright,
As werewolves and mummies,
Roam the night!
Spectres and ghouls of any kind,
Rock up to you and freak your mind!
Halloween!!
An angel so sweet is here with us,
And that guy in the carrot costume, (Vinepaw: Thats me! )
But beware of the werewolf as she tramps about,
As tonight it's a full moon!
Zombies and faires come out to play-
But will YOU get to see another day?
Halloween!!
This is the end, we conclude or song,
But beware of this very night,
As I here that the monster lurk around,
Giving great pleasure to fright!
To go tricker treating you are keen,
But remember this- it's halloween!
6. Squirrel Village
By Robin Redflash
Squirrel village is the best
It rides on the waves' crest
Mainly cause it's in the trees
Where no one but we can see
It is a place of justice and right
We are renowed for our might
Squirrel village is the best
It rides on the waves' crest
Never will we back down
Our enemies die without a sound
We will stand for ever and ever
For we are quick and very clever
Squirrel village is the best
It rides on the waves' crest
We will be here for all time
We will never commit a crime
We are fair and just always
That is what the stories say
Squirrel village is the best
It rides on the waves' crest
