OOC: Alrighty then. Repayment of a debt is probably the one thing Balder will believe, anyway, seeing as he has a bad case of that himself. Thanks for the clarification.

*Engel smiles more broadly than she probably should for two words in her native tongue, but it's always gratifying to hear them.* Deutsch, natürlich, *She replies easily, tones of the language thoughtless and guttural.* He doesn't know much Skandinavier, I think. Mostly just words for ceremonies and prayers. You know, Forn Siðr. Tiwaz tiwaz tiwaz and all that. *Balder glances up from Danniar, then back down, taking the remaining water in its bowl and standing slowly.* Right now, the best thing to do is watch her, just like you said. If you want to take first watch, I can relieve you in a few hours. *With that he heads to the door, arriving outside just in time to hear Engel's impromptu mimicry.* Praying for Danniar? How thoughtful of you, *He mutters as he leans over the banister to dump out the bowl. He looks to Terragon, giving a little, deferential nod.* Really, though. I think she'll be fine. OOC: Forn Sior means "old ways," and is the most period-appropriate term I could find for Norse paganism (which is better known today as Asatru). The "tiwaz" business is Engel mimicking Galdr, or a form of prayer/magic pracitced by chanting the sounds of specific runes (see: www.sunnyway.com/runes/galdr.html). And Rippla? Good to hear, though he's probably pretty securely bound after the last misadventure. *Terragon masks her smirk as a grateful smile as she recalls Engel's impression of the surgeon.* Thank-you, Balder. Nothing worse than cuts and bruises though, I assume? * If Ashnel and the rest of the Guard return to Terralux then I suspect Tuscaro'll be worse off than Danni. She nods towards the door of Starsett Hollow, addressing both stoat and fox now.* And I'm afraid I forgot to mention when you first arrived; neither of you want anything to eat or drink, do you? OOC: Thanks for the URL. I'm doing some research on Norse burials, customs, etc., at the moment, so I'll take a look at the site tommorrow. Apologies once again for the short post. - Terri

*Oakrose nods at Balder and settles into a chair to watch Danniar. She pulls a bit of yarn out of her cloak and begins to play with it, twirling, twirling. She looks up at Danniar, to find steady rising and falling of her chest.*

OOC: A'right. I'd start the thread with the end of the journey, so everybeast knows exactly what's going on and doesn't think it's merely a random battle.

OCC where you supposed to sign up for the battle?
*The sun shines through the forest. The grass sparkles from early dew. Flameclaw trotting down the forest path. He has a grin on his face and a pack full of adventure. He jogs along lightly enjoying the morning. A wood thrush breaks cover ahead of him but he seems not to care. He stops an puts a paw to his ear. He hears the songs of the birds. He stops to admire them then travels on. He just made it around the corner to where you are. On seeing you he waves and says.* Oh hello nice to see you on this beautiful morning.
