Lettuceleaf was born to Dewdrop and Horatio on Salamandastron mountain, but did not stay there for long. He was chosen, along with four other infant hares, to be sent to Redwall as part of an attempt to strengthen the bond between the two fortresses. As an ‘ambassador’, the hare spent his childhood at the Abbey. At Dibbun age, he joined the popular and ever threatening ‘resistance’: Dibbuns Against Bedtime. Here he met most of the friends he would spend his teenaged days with.
Once raised to 60 seasons, the hare was sent back to Salamandastron, still an ambassador. He fulfilled his childhood dream of joining the famous and perilous Long Patrol, but did not find it to his liking. The constant drilling, marching, and dusty living was a far cry from the comfort of Redwall that he had grown used to. Quitting the Patrol, he left Salamandastron and decided to become a rover.
Still headstrong, the hare assumed he could make it as a rover. Unfortunately, he soon faced the reality of living off of nature, and nearly starved to death before a troupe of creatures found him. The beasts took him to Brockhall, a cavernous home underneath the legendary tree. He finished his teenage years there under Brockhall’s leader, Moonpaw, and became captain of their riverboat, the Shadowcast.
At 25 seasons, Lettuceleaf took a voyage down the River Moss and, after falling down a very small waterfall, lost his way. He soon found Terralux, a village that seemed friendly enough. After meeting the village’s leader, Terragon, at a tavern, he stayed there, becoming quite comfortable with the beasts living there, and even began to hone his skills with a blade.
After some seasons at Terralux, the hare received word of a Tournament being hosted at his long-forgotten home, Redwall. After a word of farewell to Terragon and his villager friends, he traveled back to the Abbey and signed up. Because of his short-range training at Terralux, he made it quite far, but was eventually disarmed and defeated by Riverstar, who hailed from his old home Brockhall.
Although he intended to traverse back to Terralux or Brockhall after the Tournament, he met up with Sunset, Raiden, and Riverstar, who persuaded him to join up with the Sea patrol. There he was reaqquainted with old friends from both Salamandastron, Redwall, Brockhall, and even one or two Terraluxians. He spent several seasons with the Patrol, fending off vermin from the coast. He found the more informal Sea patrol much more to his liking than the strict Long Patrol.
After a while, the hare grew too old to patrol, and settled back down at Redwall. Unfortunately, once there, he caught a bad cough. In his younger days, he could have had some medicine and leapt back up, but now he was old and feeble, and the sickness forced him in bed for a season. Although he fought it well, the cough eventually killed him. He was buried on a hillock between Salamandastron, Terralux, Redwall, and brockhall, his homes.
OOC: It's copied and pasted from my guild joining post. Deal with it. I'm lazeh.
