**Oakfang smiled to herself as she watched Dannblood hefting and throwing the knife. she reached into the chest, and pulls out a silver helm, with a long prong that covers the top of her nose. she fits it onto her head after looking at the carved symbols upon it. it even covers the backs of her ears.** hm, good fit. **she mumbles to herself as she begins to rootle around again, obviously looking for something**

I like to travel light.... All that armor can slow a beast down.... A lot. I learned the hard way. *Dannblood puts a paw beside his heart and feels a small depression. His eyes cloud over as he recalls the memory.*

Well, I don't carry much, this is fairly light Armour, the rest is leather... aha! **she says triumphantly and pulls out a very bizarre looking weapon. it's a chain with a teardrop/feather shaped blade on either end, and it also has runes carved into it. every single chain link is covered with runes, and the blades have a single rune on either side. she then notices Danns expression** You don't have to tell me,**she falters slightly** but what happened? **she tries not to sound pushy**

*Dann starts, the story replaying in his mind.* My friends and I were in the far south, helping a village fight of corsairs. Everything was going alright, we were on top of a dune, getting ready to make a charge..... There was nothing we could do to stop it, vermin charged in from the back of us. We managed to take a lot down when our captain called a retreat. A few of my friends managed to break through. I started making a path through. I made it over a dune and started running, a few vermin came after me, my armor slowed me down. A well aimed spear tripped me and I went down. They beat me up, then drug me back to where the battle started. The blood..... Nobeast was in a whole. I was still alive so their leader walked over to me with a spear and gave me a scar I will hold as a burden, a burden of remembering everyone that got killed that night. They left me for dead and... I still live to remember it.

*Leatha continued her search for a weapon as Dann and Oakfang conversed though she heard the entire story. Looking up as Dann finished, she felt a pang of sympathy for the squirrel.*
Aww I'm sorry to hear that Dann. It must be awful to even look at armor now.
*A bit of sunlight fell across the chest and something gleaming caught her eye. Thrusting her paw into the array of weapons she pulled out a leather belt with two small scabbards holding two identical daggers. Their keen blades curved slightly at the point and there wasn't any hilt, a handle bound tightly in thin leather strips completed the long, twin daggers look. All the sympathy had vanished and she was back into war mode as she answered Dannblood's earlier question.*
As for setting traps, I haven't done that a lot but I learn quickly. However, I must ask the question of whether they are needed. If these assassins are so good, it would be easy for them to avoid or destroy the traps without getting caught. Also, it may be a danger for our people who don't know where they are. If you want to do traps, fine, but lets be logical and plan this correctly.

**Oakfang nods her head grimly as she listens to Danns story** that's a terrible experience mate. you don't have to take no armour, but I dare say theres a pair of gloves or something like that you'll appreciate. **as Leatha finds herself a weapon Oakfangs face berightens up** Nice weapon Leatha! each weapon or set of weapons has its own peculiar quality, tis the fox magic. so does the armour, mind.
on the subjec of traps, I agree with you Leatha, sorry Dann. Well, actually, we could set some around this area, the little gits will try and get all my stuff, cause they know I stash everything here. they won't be looking, they'll be the grunts. but its the elites we need to take out quickly. They will be ready, and there will be traps. but let me show you on the map where they will be, and where the grunts will be attacking terralux from.
**she takes a large map out of her rucksack and begins pointing to various parts, marking them with small inobtrusive symbols. she marks out the most likely ways the grunts will go, and where the elites and the leader will be** Well, thats just a rough estimate, but they always stick to the same tactics really. what do you thnk to this route **she marks a path from where you are through dense undergrowth to the area where the elites will hopefully be**
((OOC: sorry it was long, its just I thought "lets get it moving" XD you can still find your gloves or armour or whatever though. its a fun roleplay is this.))

*Dann nods slightly, then looks again.* Hold on, I have an idea, Leatha and I can go in from here, screaming like Hell Gates and get them distracted, we can make it seem like a whole army is on their doorstep. We could get them after us and there is a little clearing around here. *Dannblood points at a grove of trees.* I am pretty sure, I think the trees are just covering the clearing. I could get a few traps set up there, take a few of them out.... Any of you have a nice cry? Like to tell us if you need help? Because the whole time we got them going, you will most likely be back at their camp, taking care of the leader. I know of a few hiding places Leatha, you could hide and when they pass, run back and help them. *Dann points towards Oakfang.* I can take care of myself from there. Agreed?

Sounds like a fair plan to me, how about: you both go from the fairly okay covered section, yelling like mad, and I come from round the side? there won't be many elites, so you could probably take them out just the two of you. meanwhile, I'll be coming in from the densly covered side, and go for the leader and her two bodyguards? I like the idea of yelling and traps though, we should use it. I generally just yell help, but if we need a discreet call, how about a song thrush call? you know, we have something in this chest that might help us out. there's a pair of amulets which are supposed to give your voice the power of the gods. **she hands the amulets to Dann and Leatha** when you've picked off the other elites, I'll need you to give me a hand with the bodyguards and the leader. after that part is done, we can go back to terralux and get rid of the grunts attacking our home village. if it sounds okay to you guys?

((OOC: mild auto hitting, but I'll roleplay them if you like. it would be boring to just be able to hit them all the time, they're supposed to be elites!))
**Oakfang shove the chest back in place and covers it over quickly. she places large wooden spikes on the riverbed, and in the tree where her stuff is.** well, we need to split off, as we are approaching from different places. Don't attack till I'm there, I'll let you know with the call of a blackbird. if you hear blackbird song three times in a row, its me.

*Leatha nodded*
Alrighty Oak, we'll be ready. C'mon Dann we've gotta get into position.
*She lept nimbly into the tree where Oakfang's gear was hidden and adjusted her bow, and new daggers for easier movement as she waited for Dann to join her.*

*Dann darted after Leatha, then joined her in the tree, fitting an arrow to his bow and checking his weapons. Pulling the throwing knife from the tree Dannblood nods his head saying that he is ready.* You lead.

**oakfang nods** good luck guys **she says and places her middle and index finger together on her forehead, a gesture of good will. She darts off into the heavy trees. she weaves herself in and out of the deep undergrowth, going as speedily and quickly as possible. she keeps the chainblade through her belt, ready to use in a battle. she felt a horrible chill as she went along, the chill of the reaper.**

OOC: It's easiest if you RP the vermin you're fighting yourself, then you won't have to wait for someone else to reply. Try to keep your messages more than three lines, guys, apart from that, good RPing and sorry I haven't been online for a while.
BIC: *Despite his previous doubts, Ashnel follows Oakfang but seems distracted from the task at hand as he glances about, dark eyes searching... every now and then, the squirrel picks up a stick about the size of a staff and turns it over in his paws before allowing it to fall to the ground again. At last he finds what he is looking for: a sturdy length of birch to act as a weapon. Weighing it in his paws Ashnel frowns slightly. After so many months - gods knew how many - it feels strange to be armed once more and the squirrel is surprisingly uneasy though barely pauses a moment before hurrying after Oakfang.* *Walking for a few minutes without comment, Ashnel stops once more, ears twitching as he listens.* Hear those voices up ahead...? I think we're here, *He allows himself a lop-sided smile, adrenalin beginning to force away his earlier uneasiness.*
