*Robin ignores the grin for once she is not utterly overjoyed to see her brother. Normally he has some wound or other but he would always tell the truth about where he got it. However she pushes them aside for a while and follows him to the edge of the valley. She looks at Terragon flinch and flinches slightly herself, this shouold not be. Then shaking her head slowly she turns and looks out over the valley.*

*In a long, smooth stride, Regale slips over the edge, sliding, cat-like, down the banks with Terragon following. The dry earth stains the squirrel's paws, but they carry on regardless, the smaller of the pair forgetting Regale's wound for a moment.*

*Robin watches the pair slide down the bank. She grins and prepares to follow. Taking a few paces back she jumps and lands heavily on the bank. She only just manages to keep her balance, but manages to slide after he siblings. Her eyes glitter as she grins forgetting the wound right up until she draws level with them and sees it again.*

OOC: Advancing quest.
BIC: *Ashnel turns back to see if he can assist Ayeny and Mrs. Windwhiffler down the slope while Regale carries on ahead. He leads the twins towards a wooden cottage, the walls white-washed, and the beams left, dark wood against the pale structure.* This it? *Terragon asked. Regale nods.* You bet!

*Robin follows her brother and sister and stares out at the cottage. It looks nice, clean some part of her feels a bit uneasy about meeting her parents at last. Right now she feels very small. Staring queasily at the house and wondering what lies within. Breathing slowly she looks over to Regale and takes a few steps towards the cottage.*

*The door flies open before the trio can take another step. A petite squirrel - middle aged, but still with an odd grace about her - rushes out, her long skirt and tail flying behind. She glances the nearest of the Canopy children, Robin, up and down and gasps.* Terri! No... no, you're not - you're Robin. You are, aren't you? *Regale nods very slightly and Laburnum gives a little cry.* It's been so long! And you've grown! You must be twenty now...? No, no - still young, eh? Sixteen? Eighteen. *Terragon corrects.* Terragon! *The red squirrel steps back at the sudden rush of attention.* Ev'ning, mother. *Terragon mumbles.*

*Robin stares at her mother. She takes a step back until she is level with Regale and Terragon once again in shock. Then she manges to overcome her shock and just stares grinning at her. Eyes twinkling and wishing that this would go on. She merely nods when she asks if she's Robin a bit used to being mistaken for Terragon but by her own mother...well it has been a long time as she said. When Terragon has spoken she mutters her small piece aswell.* Hi Mum it's nice to see you again. *She already feels like a bit of an idiot and shuffles nervously with her footpaws and grips her rapier hilt slightly. She tries to peer round her mother to try to see if Gan is in there. She grins even more and waits to be allowled in.*

Come in, come in. *Laburnum babbles.* You too, Regale. Gan'll be so pleased to see you two! *Terragon pauses at the door, certain she hears her brother murmur:* See... I wish. *The red squirrel finds herself drawn into the house behind Laburnum and up into a tiny attic room. Two windows grace the half-light, and a smoky fire rises up into a chimney opposite the door. There, by the hearth, in a faded crimson chair, sits a small giant of a squirrel (?!) - nearly Ashnel's height - a pipe rests beside him on the arm of his seat.* You haven't been smoking that awful pipe again, have you?! *Laburnum cries in mock dispair, with a hint of seriousness. Gan shrugs non-commitingly and turns his eyes to Robin and Terragon. He raises his eyebrows a little, and beckons them nearer.*

*Robin walks in aswell after a moments hesatation. She wonders what her father will be like. She grins and enters. Blinking in the half light she now enters her eyes are immeadiately drawn to the fire in the hearth. She stares at nearly mesmirized, thinking about all that's happened. Then finally the squirrel forces to take in the view of the old squirrel sitting in the chair. She grins and stares at him and listens as if far away to her mother scold him. It's all very homey, very very done really. She grins and her eyes glitter in the dancing light of the fire. When her father looks over to her she looks away blushing slightly not knowing why. Yet she forces herself to turn back to him. She does and moves closer breathing heavily.*

*Gan mutters a sombre greeting to Robin, and Terragon draws Regale to one side.* What happened to him? *She asks in a whisper. At this point, Gan raises his voice and calls out to the other two.* I may be nearly blind, Terragon Canopy, but I'm not deaf. Not yet. Come, you and Robin must tell me what you've been doing all these years. By the Guiding Stars, it's been so long... how long, Regale? Seven years, three seasons. *Regale tells him dutifully as though he's been counting the days. Perhaps he has been, Terragon muses. Perhaps I'm not the only one.*

*Ayeny can't keep from smilling even as she keeps a constant stream of whispered explanation aimed at her mother.* Seven years? *Florena whispers back incredulously, to which Ayeny can't help but reply, pointedly,* Somebeasts just need to leave home, mum.
*The slightly darker eyes meet hers for a second before there is a slow nod, which surprises Ayeny more than it ought to have.*

Is that Ashnel over there, as well? *Gan continues, and without waiting for a reply:* Well? Are you lot going t' introduce your friends or not?! *Ashnel starts forwards.* Er... this is Miss - no, Mrs - Ayeny Wi- Alashia. Mrs Ayeny Alashia. *He sounds pleased with himself for getting the other's title right at last.* Oh, and her mother. Mrs Windwhiffler. *All the same, the dark squirrel still cannot bear to use Florena's full name.*

*The time it takes for Ashnel to say her name gives Ayeny ample time to abandon her mother's side for Ashnel's, which she does with only the slightest hesitation, and a slightly undeserved feeling of joy. Ayeny Alashia.* You must be Gan, and Laburnum, *she says, with a nod to each at their name.* ...And Regale, *she adds a little shyly, realising she hasn't really met the other, either. Erm. Okay.*
*Looking back, Ayeny notices her mother has her slightly unnatural smile on again, and almost feels sorry for her. 'Cept that she wouldn't be so uncomfortable with company if she hadn't come in the first place!* Call me Florena, *Florena Windwhiffler urges, perhaps just to add her name to Ashnel's introduction. She glances in Ayeny and Ashnel's direction with a hint of curiousity that makes Ayeny nervous, although, then again, she could never tell what her mother was feeling.*

*Gan smiles, and his half-faded eyes seem less dull and lifeless. Laburnum attempts to make conversation with Florena by saying:* I take it Ayeny is good friends with my daughter and nephew? My second adopted cousin. *Terragon adds, she and Ashnel proud of the confusing title. In the moment Laburnum and Gan are distracted, Regale leans over and whispers an explaination to his sister's earlier question ("What happened to Gan?").* In the forge, same accident that hurt m' arm - *The squirrel indicates the ugly wound.* - and he hurt his back again. A fire started, see and the door fell in on him as we were try'n' t' put it out. Oh... *Terragon feels guilty for suspecting Regale.* I thought you were lying when you said you hurt your arm in the forge. *The other grins good-naturedly.* No matter; I wouldn't trust me if I weren't me either!

*Robin has watched mutely through all of this. The squirrel leans over slightly when Regale bends in towards Terragon and tries to listen in. She doesn't hear much only about the door falling on him. Her eyes dart quickly over to Gan but she snatches them back and tries not to get like this among her own family. She must remind herself later on. She feels compelled to join in and she whispers harshly but ever so quietly to Regale and Terragon.* When did that happen? *Then she thinks quite fast still having doubts.* How did the fire start? Who was involved apart from you two? *She knows she is asking two many questions but she can't stop herself.*
