*Ashnel carries a large barrel up into Starsett House.* Last o' the barrels, Terri. Should I see whether Talis and Joey have finished the food? *Terragon looks up and nods.* Nah, leave 'em. They told me they were expecting to have to feed an army. Hope not. *The other replies.* We can do without any combat for now. There'll be fighting over the October Ale though. *He adds with a grin. Terragon notices Ashnel slip an apple into his pocket.* I hope you intend to eat that, not throw it at Mela'. *Ashnel grins again.* Don't tempt me. *After a moment, the red squirrel hurries away to change for the party and the darker of the two is left on his own.*

*Ayeny takes this opportunity to quite suddenly put her paws over Ashnel's eyes, although she stands on tip-paw to keep herself from leaning on the other and thus ruining her ruse. Should I ask 'guess who?' Nah, Ash' knows my voice...*

*Ashnel sighs a deep, mock-heavy sigh.* Ayeny, there's only one other creature who'd put their paws over my eyes, and that's Arven - who isn't here. *At this moment, a small band of hedgehogs arrive, claiming that they are the musicians. The dark squirrel, unable to see the guests because of Ayeny's paws, asks them to set up in the hollow below the treehouse. The hedgehog grumble a little as they go back down the ladder, but soon a fiddle can be heard as it is tuned and warmed up. A while later, a reed pipe joins it.*

*Ayeny's dark scowl fixes her paws firmly in place for a moment, before she remembers that Ashnel probably can't see, and gives him a hug around his neck before retreating to where he can see her, sticking her tongue out briefly.* Anything else that needs to be done?

*Ashnel pauses a moment, and nods slightly.* Um... yes. No... sort-of. Could you wait here, and if anybeast arrives, ask them to wait down in Starsett Hollow. Since the weather's cleared, me and Terri decided we should have the party outside. *He turns to go, assuring Ayeny that he'll "just be a minute." The squirrel hurries into his own room, and looks through the wardrobe. Chainmail...? No, too heavy and warlike. A tunic...? Yes, this one's alright... 'cept there's blood on the sleeve and a rip down the back. Ashnel groans and leans his head back, accidently hitting it on the wardrobe door. Finally, he finds a midnight blue shirt and black cloak to wear. Nothing else seems to fit the occasion, so the squirrel keeps the same trousaurs and hopes nobeast will notice the frayed hems.* *Terragon meanwhile re-enters the main room of Starsett House to find Ayeny.* Oh... ev'ning, Ayeny. I didn't hear you come in. Has Ashnel gone to get changed? *The red squirrel tugs her jacket straight, and runs a paw through her fur.* D'you think this is too informal? *She asks Ayeny, anxiously. Terragon indicates the silky black top and pale blue leggings. At this moment, Ashnel arrives and nods to the red squirrels.* Shall we go? *He asks, indicating the door down to the Hollow.*

No- *Ayeny starts to answer to Terragon's question, then says,* Yes. Yes, *she repeats, to clarify that she was speaking to Ashnel. Thoroughly aware of how confusing she sounds, she pulls at the blue-green fringe of her dress and starts towards the door.* Oh, never mind.

*Ashnel doesn't bother to lock up, because, as he reminds himself, they and the others will be close by and nobeast would think of breaking into the treehouse anyway. Closing the door lightly, the taller squirrel waits for the other two to head down the ladder first. Terragon glances around, enjoying seeing the evening from this height. Then, she places her footpaws on the second from top rungs and, holding the skirt of her dress tight around her with one paw, she descends.*

OOC: Hi again Ayeny, sorry about this but I haven't seen you in ages. *Robin dahses out of her room, changed, well as much as she will ever be. The squirrel is wearing her normal light green short tunic and her trousers underneath. Her normal head band is in place and for once you can't see any weapons on her. Can't see, her Sgin Dhu as always is tucked away in her head band. She is grinning at first but then she glares slightly to see the closed door in front of her, she walks up to it meaning to slam it open but ends up merely gingerly opening it and peering around the edge.*

Close the door b'hind you, Robin. *Ashnel mutters distractedly without turning. He steps aside and nods towards the ladder.* After you. *The darker squirrel's next comment slips out before he can register the words.* Elm isn't come is he? *Hoping to regain himself, Ashnel swiftly adds.* What about Thrukka? Will she be turning up?

*Robin closes the door behind her and manages to keep up a cool look for about 5 seconds after he mentions Elm. She blushes furiously and looks at him.* Yes Elm is coming he's meeting me there with Thrukka. I thought it best that Thrukka stay with Elm for a bit so as not to cause troub..so she can get used to Terralux. *She grins sheepishly while blushing even more deeply at the other and begins her descent.*

*Terragon jumps the last few rungs of the ladder and gazes around the all too familiar clearing, transformed into something from a fairy-story the squirrel doesn't believe in. Lanterns hang from the boughs of great trees, and a few trestle tables line the hollow, creating a free space in the middle for the guests. And, as though on cue, half a doesn't squirrels lead by a pair known to Terragon like the back of her paw.* *The first of the pair is taller than the other remembers, and has an easy-going smile that reminds Terragon of Ashnel and her own brother. Clad in a dark blue tunic and trousaurs that have seen much travel, the new squirrel is in beautiful opposites to his companion who is small, but slender and wears a garland of flowers, which she carries on her head with pride, despite the fact that they have slipped at an odd angle on her ears. Her clothes and lighter and more elegant than her companion's, but she seems at perfect ease with the calm roughness of the woodland.* Arven! *Terragon pauses, and adds graciously, though not quite as eagerly.* Hyadillo... Pleased to be here. *Arven returns.* And I've gone back to my old name. *Ashnel's voice sails down from the treehouse.* Nice t' see you, Arven - or am I calling you Avenel Wood-Dusk now? Aven.
OOC: Wood Aven is a type of flower, by the way.
Aven - pronouced "ay-ven" Avenel - "ay-ven-ell"
^^^ Sorry for the patronizing OOC.

OOC: Your OOC was well-placed, actually... my botany is not a strong point, and I would have pronounced it Aaaa-ven.
And... half a doesn't?
BIC: *Ayeny, behind Terragon, grins at seeing Arven (Aven) again after quite a long time, and looks at him and his partner just to see how much he's changed.* Ar- Aven! How have things been?

Things are great. *Aven tells Ayeny with a grin. His voice sounds deeper, bolder.* And you...? And Ashnel? *Terragon takes this in, the squirrel's voice, eyes, expression. She briefly wonders if she'll miss the old, boyish, uncertain Arven.*

Well, *replies Ayeny.* Quite well, actually, *she says, a mischeivous twinkle in her eyes with a slight glance at Ashnel.* I suppose we've quite a lot to catch up on.

OOC: I was thinking about last the last Terraluxian New Year Party (Oakbark), Arven's a bit too much like Oakbark now. Even though Terragon forgives him instantly, I always associate the matter with the Avril Lavigne song "So Much For My Happy Ending," which I'm listening to at the moment. Random.
BIC: *Aven mock-gasps at the same time as grinning.* More news? Wasn't your mother turning up to the wedding enough?! That surprised me - no offence, Ayeny, of course - but anyway, what's this news. Tell all. *Terragon steps away from the ladder to allow Robin and Ashnel down, and decides to let Ayeny tell the story.*
OOC: I think Aven was there when Mrs. Windwhiffler turned up-?
