*Terragon and Ashnel look around... Three days after the storm, eh...? The boat borrowed from Lord Jupiter is somewhere at the bottom of the greedy ocean and the village treehouses and squad meeting treehuts lie in ruin... Great. Absolutely brilliant... And to make matters worse, Ashnel wants to go scavenging... Sure, there's some good firewood... But we'll never find anything useful here!*

*Ayeny finds herself behind the two but makes no move to go forwards, pensively standing in place instead. It seems like so much has happened I can hardly believe it... I can barely even remember everything that's happened, it's happened so fast. Moodily, almost angrily, she scuffs at the ground.*

*The two seem to notice Ayeny for the first time and nod slightly to her. Ashnel breaks away from the main body of creatures and paces a little way down the shore. His dark eyes seek treasures in the sand, left by the storm... His little quest leads him close to a gang of yellow-eyed gulls which wail at him as he approaches. The dark squirrel notices something being pecked at by the largest of the seabirds.* *A moment later, Terragon hears a shout from further along the beach, as, with a jolt, Ashnel realises that the "something" is alive. The squirrel seizes a spar of driftwood and hurls it hard at the gull - Which takes off, though not fast enough to escape in time. A piercing screech tells Ashnel that his target was found and he dashes forwards, the other birds scattering. The noise those scavengers make would put a crowd o' cawing crows to shame! ... Hey, that's a good tongue twister! He muses. Oi, Ashnel! His brain snaps and presses him forwards to the bundle of fur.*
*Terragon hurries up behind and hears Ashnel gasp-* By the Guiding Stars! It's a dibbun... Look, Terragon! White fur! Like snow... Tha's odd... *The other, red, squirrel looks the cub over, a grim look stamped upon her muzzle. The squirrel cub, battered by the storm looks up at Ashnel, it's eyes rimmed with sand. A tattered blue smock hangs in shreds on it's tiny frame...*

*Ayeny approaches the three and stares at the squirrel dibbun.* White? I've never seen anything like it before. How curious...
*Wake up- you can muse on its color later- it's just been attacked by seagulls!* Poor little thing, he (or she?) must have been through a lot to get here.

Or prehaps not... *Ashnel replies softly. He glances at Terragon, frowning. The red squirrel returns the questioning look with a grim shrugg.* Maybe the storm, maybe an abandoned cub... Who knows. *The dark squirrel continues. He seems almost uneasy with the situation and bites his lip, thinking.* *Terragon glances up at Salamandastron, sillouhetted (sp?) against the blue of the clear sky, so different from the night of the storm. The squirrel is torn from her thoughts as the other odd squirrel stands, squinting through sand crusted eyes. The creature now seems a lot bigger. Though still only a dibbun... Ashnel reminds himself, watching.*
*The cub staggers a little way towards the dark squirrel and looks up, rubbing it's eyes with grubby paws. Ashnel glances at Ayeny and Terragon, trying to read their expressions. The look on Terragon's face makes him groan.*
No, Terragon... No way... *He gives up with a sigh as the white squirrel dibbun collapses onto the sand.*

*Ayeny draws a sharp intake of breath when the cub falls and bends down, lowering herself to see it more clearly.* Looks exhausted to me, *she says, voice dryer than she had meant it to be.*
*Leaning slightly closer, she reaches out a paw to touch the squirrel's curiously snowy-white fur.*

*The dark squirrel pokes the other, none too lightly. It looks up, almost grumpily and allows Terragon and Ashnel to push it up the beach to the others.*
We should ask Jupiter about this. *The latter reminds the red squirrel, as though trying to buy time.*

*Ayeny watches the two, mildly confused, until she suddenly wonders, Does Terragon want to keep...? It's so cute, she thinks, distracted, deciding that what will happen will happen- regardless of any protests from Ashnel, she thinks, amused.*

*Terragon nods slightly at Ashnel comment. He's only trying to buy time./i] She reminds herself, with the slightest of sneers. The little squirrel dibbun seems to be ignoring her completely. It latches itself to Ashnel's paw. The red squirrel, however, holds back to murmur to Ayeny-*
Mark my words... This is going to be hilarious!

*Ayeny hides a smirk behind a paw, not doubting Terragon's words, and chokes back a noise rather like an 'Awww' as she notices the small dibbun grasping the paw of the much larger Ashnel. Cute as it may be, the remark may not be appreciated in the face of things, she reminds herself, and keeps her thoughts within.*

*Terragon hides a snicker. As the mountain looms closer she glances back at the others, before hurrying on after Ashnel. With his free paw, the dark squirrel hammers on the doors of Salamandastron.* *An ancient, whispy hare unbolts the doors and attempts to drag them backwards, groaning.*

*Ayeny can't help but gaze upwards as she applies a little pressure to the doors to help the rabbit open the doors, the magic of Salamandastron still not grown old for her. Whoever came up with the idea to create this place... a genius.*

*A red squirrel lies wounded on the creamy sand of the Salamadastron shore. He sits up, and wipes all the sand off his tail. A wave crashes down onto the beach, and the current flowes into him, making the squirrel sopping wet. With two brown furred paws, he pushes himself up. It is Oakvine Fresson, a squirrel from Squirrel Village who is about nineteen seasons. He ripps a little cloth from his green tunic, and wrappes it around his shoulder to quench the bleeding. He winces in pain and staggers forward, seeing Terragon and Ayney.* 'Ello, frien's! *He begins to limp fast, eagerly wanting company. As he reaches the two, he cheerfully plopps down on the sand next to them.*
'Ow 'tis goin' on this side of the beach, eh?
*The squirrel leans his head back, embracing the warm day. He sees the dibbun, and shifts his eyes over to Ashnel.* Wot is she up to, Terragon me pal?

*At this, Ashnel turns, giving Oakvine an almost disgusted look, before striding away through the gates.* Ashnel's not a girl. *Terragon informs the newcomer in a whisper.* Oh, and, welcome back, Oakvine! Nice t'see you.
We're here t'see Star- I mean his greatness, Lord Jupiter. *Ashnel explains to the hare. The ancient creature quickly thanks Ayeny, and, with surprising speed for one of his seasons, leads the way up a stone staircase, chuckling toothily and chunering all the way.* Vistors! Yes... Wot, wot. Bally vistors, not many o' them, now?

*Ayeny chokes back a snort at Ashnel's sudden gender change and nods to the hare.*
Hello, Oakvine, *she says quietly, grinning.* 'Would say more but we should be saving our breath to chat with Jupiter, *she says almost apologetically, and starts up the staircase.*
