**Ammy stands gazing at a statue of Martin. It reminded her of all the time she spent at Redwall looking at all the tapestries and carvings the dwellers had made in the past. She wipes her eyes and starts looking around the statue. Running her paws along the cracks she searches for a pannel or something else of that sort.**

OOC: Poem? You flatter me, really. ;D
BIC:
*Regen wanders over to the statue of Mars. He walks around the statue in a circle, frowning, then steps on a sharp rock. * *OW! *The squirrel stops hopping around after a moment, and, muttering a stream of curses, kicks the offending object away.* *The rock wedges itself between the fox's shoulder and ear, knocking away a piece of paper. Regen, unaware, continues poking around the back of the statue.* *The paper floats down to the ground and lies there innocently...*
OOC: Who's next to write?

Regen, you found it! The clue! *Engel squeaks like an over-excited dibbun as she spots the scrap of paper flutter to ground. She goes still a split-second later, looking about shyly as several pairs of eyes turn toward her at once.* I mean . . . oh my, why don't we see what it says? *She strides for the fallen scrap of paper a little too quickly, plucking it off the ground and clearing her throat unnecessarily. After a few seconds of moving it back and forth and squinting, she begins to read.* You've come this far, and I suppose you think you're sharp for taking prose and hammering sense from it -- beware: for now awaits the dragon's lair. His breath awaits you hardy fellows as with all his fury he bellows. *She's still a moment, then mutters incredulously.* . . . we don't have any dragons, do we?

'Cept Alex. *Ashnel mutters, almost to himself. He glances up with a faint smile.* A pet newt b'longing to Terragon now. It used t' be Seastar's. *Terragon shakes her head.* No, it says "hammering" and later "bellows." Hammer and bellows... the forge, maybe?
OOC: I think Engel's riddle might be rather better than Ashnel's...

*Regen pokes his head around the statue. *Really? *He listens to the rhyme before coming around the fox, patting the stone creature on the shoulder. *Good work, Mars ol' buddy.
*The squirrel stands near the stone fox, waiting to see if anyone's gonna figure the riddle out...he has no idea.*

I think your right. It certainly sounds like it's the forge.Does anyone here disagree? If not then we should be off.**Ammy looks at everyone in turn for a raised hand or a comment.**

No, that sounds about right . . . *Engel muses.* Dragon's breath, of course. Fire. Like the fire in the forge. *She gestures forward with a paw, glancing with a smile at Geordie, then the rest.* Let us 'hardy fellows' be off, then.

**Ammy starts walking, chattering along.** It's fairly easy to see that if you know Salamandastron's history, come to think of. They call it the home of the fire lizards because of the giant forge.

Is that all?! *Ashnel asks.* I was hoping it was something rather more exciting. Real dragons and suchlike. *Terragon rolls her eyes and purposely knocks into him.* Seriously, Terri... that would be amazing... think about it... *The red squirrel shruggs.* P'rhaps. But what about the forge? Where should we look. Near hammer and bellows? Or do we dare face the "dragon's breath and lair"?

*Regen grins.* *I suggest Ashnel takes on all dragon-facing duties. *He directs his grin at the statue of Mars, as if the stone fox had laughed at his "joke".* *The squirrel starts after Engel and Ammy, still looking amused.*

*Geordie laughs at Regen's remark and claps Ashnel on the back, grinning at his friend.* Ach lad, how' boot it? Ye ready te face tha lair o' tha fire lizard an' 'is burnin' breath? Ye're a braver lad than me, ye kenn....Ah'm nae te fond o' tha smell o' brimstone on me kilts; takes fere'er te get tha stink oot o' them...

Me an' Jupiter went looking for salamanders one winter. The front door of the mountain was held shut with all the snow 'nd ice outside and nobeast could leave Salamandastron for days. *Ashnel begins blithering on about dibbunhood days as he sets off, walking, not actually caring if anybeast notices. In fact, the squirrel doesn't stop talking until Terragon comments that the forge is nearby.*

*Regen, following the group, looks across at the forge. * *Aye, so it is. What now? *He stands beside the building, one eye on the door.*

**Ammy snorts at Regen's remark, as if he should know the answer without thinking.**We go in,of course!**Ammy walks to the door and pulls it open, smelling the air that came out.**
