It is the Winter of the Failing Starlight-
Named by Terragon Canopy
Mossflower
*You follow the woodland paths from Redwall Abbey, the air seeming to become lighter as you near Salamandastron. You round a corner and find a wide archway standing over the path. Upon this archway reads a single word, Terralux. In the same moment as you ponder the meaning of the odd name, a dark squirrel strides from the trees.*
Traveler or returning warrior? *He asks.* Friend or foe? *You pause before replying.* Friend. *You tell him decisively.* Friend? *Repeats another voice, and you find a second, red, squirrel approaching.* That's good, because foebeasts are usually bad news. I'm Terragon Scrufftail, my friend here - *She gestures the first.* - Is Ashnel Alashia and this place, is Terralux. You're welcome to stay here for a while, or maybe slightly longer. *Terragon and Ashnel both turn to go, and, after a moment of thought, you follow them.*
The Terraluxian Settlement (6 sub-boards) *You enter another clearing, larger than the others, and find various creatures sitting around, talking. Music from a reed pipe winds about the place, giving it a more friendly air. As you look about, you notice that in the woodland beyond are treehouses and cottages.* Is this where everybeast lives? *You ask a hedgehog. She nods cheerfully.* Aye - if you've earned your five crystal shards, then you can request a treehouse, cottage, or... just beyond the woodlands is a lake. The otters and water-folk live down there, and I'm sure they wouldn't mind you joining them! Moderators: Terragon Scrufftail , Robin Redflash, Chestnut Spiketree, Ayeny Alashia, Geordie Brushtail
The Lake *You ask the hedgehog for directions down to the lake; and after receiving them, hurry through the trees and out onto a broad bank on the water's edge. A dozen houseboats bob on the surface of the lake, and you notice the concealed entrance to a burrow in the bank. A tall otter slides out of the water to greet you, making you jump slightly.* This is the lake. There's houseboats an' holts here. An' competitions durin' the summ'r. I s'ppose you're new here? *He continues.* I'm Seaflint, unofficial leader o' the ott'rs here at Terralux. You're welcome t' join us though, ev'n if you're not an otter... The Grotto (9 sub-boards) *You follow the sound and sight of a stream, until the water spills down to a pool below you. After a moment, you realise that beyond this waterfall is a grotto. The warm sun taunts you, until you decide to go down to this newly discovered cave and you quickly scrabble down the rocks to the edge of the water; where, to your surprise, you find a few little stepping stones to lead you through the waterfall and across to the cave. As you enter the grotto, voices beyond can be heard faintly up ahead, and you follow the sound until the sudden light of a hundred candles and lanterns makes you squint, and you enter an amazing cavern, where dibbuns, elders and friends are all joining in activities. After a moment, a little fox cub with a shy smile approaches and suggests some activities...* Moderator: Terragon Scrufftail
The Woodlands & Clearings (1 sub-board) *Away from the grotto, you find an odd clearing. In the failing light, you watch a host of statues, which seem to dance in the setting sun. Then, after what seems an age, you shake your head and, as though awakening from a trance, make your way off into the woodlands once again...* Moderator: Terragon Scrufftail
Quest Board (1 sub-board) *You stand at the edge of the Terraluxian boundries. Adventure tugs at your footpaws, urging you to walk onwards - For Salamandastron slumbers a few miles behind you; the Pine Groves east of there; and the path to the unknown spreads before you...* Moderator: Terragon Scrufftail
The Village Guild (3 sub-boards) *You wander into the Village Square towards the large bark-cloth tent that you walked past earlier without entering. You notice other creatures talking inside and bold, barkcloth posters advertising the various guilds and approach to take a better a look.* Moderators: Terragon Scrufftail , Geordie Brushtail, Stoakly Centurio, Tinsy Stormsight
The Woodland Scouts Guild (3 sub-boards) *As you leave the Village, you wander through the woodlands for a while. The midday sun beats on you, and after a while with little water, you become desperate to find an outpost of some sort. Finally, a tall, wooden building catches your eye to the east of the Village. On each four sides at the top of the outpost is an archer, and next to the outpost, all the trees of the woodland for some length are accompanied by a billet. You reach the bottom of the outpost and find a ferret. He nods to you.* Hello, I'm Stoakly Centurio, Terraluxian Captain and Head Scout of the Woodland Scouts Guild. We scout the woodlands, deliver messages by courier to the Village, and clear the woodlands surrounding the Village of vermin. The Admission Fort is on the tree to your left if you're interested. *And with that, he begins to climb the outpost.* Moderators: Terragon Scrufftail , Stoakly Centurio, Tinsy Stormsight
The Order of St. Ninian (2 sub-boards) *Beyond Terralux, hidden by screens of tall trees, St. Ninian's Abbey stands, barely tall enough for the bell tower to reach above the canopies. Built in pale stone and grey-blue slate, St. Ninian's seems a majestically humble place. Yet the monastery is home to more than priests, Brothers and Sisters. The Order of St. Ninian are active peacekeepers, working against evil in Mossflower. Allied with the Long Patrol and the Terraluxian Guard, the Order is indeed a force to be reckoned with.* Moderators: Terragon Scrufftail , Stoakly Centurio, Tinsy Stormsight
The Guild of Archivists *In the village square, near to the Village Guild tent is a humble building. The clean but shabby sign on the half-open door reads 'Archives' and you wander inside to be greeted by a friendly stoat who introduces herself as Anna Engeltrud.* These are the Terraluxian Archives. The place has interesting origins; it was built on the site of Arultum Squirrelking's court and it's fascinating to think what might be here in a thousand years time. *You nod in agreement and head into the strongroom with the idea of researching your own history but the thought of the future still sparking your imagination.* Moderators: Terragon Scrufftail , Stoakly Centurio, Tinsy Stormsight
